Comment: Immediately you are strip searched and personal items are taken away. You are left with clothes, notebook and crayons. All of your toiletries are put in a bucket for the appropriate time to be given out except for razors etc. You can wear your normal clothes except for no belts or shoelaces. There is group therapy throughout the day and you see your doctor once a day for any med changes. My doctor recommended their ECT program which I obliged. I had a course of shock treatments while I was there that I do not recommend. They took us to a basketball court, outside for smokers, and a lunchroom to eat. That was nice. Med times we stood in line and was given our meds. I was comforted during a panic attack. Very nice nurses. Did not care for doctor’s attitude toward me. He thought medications were hopeless for my schizoaffective and only ECT would work.
Type of program (i.e. day program, inpatient): Inpatient
