Comment: Program is very much tailored towards general depression and anxiety. Would definitely not recommend for anyone with sensory issues or a compulsive need for control of any kind. Limited food options, very little privacy. The group work/lessons are decent, but not very useful to someone who has already been through CBT/DBT and knows basic skills. Nurses are kind, but any issues need to be very explicitly explained before they can help. Psychiatrist tends to listen much more to parent input than patient, so make sure your parent/guardian fully understands your problems. Psychiatrist also has a tendency to undermedicate. Daily programming is very inflexible. Visiting hours are restricted to parents and are limited to 2 hours per day. There is 1 phone that anyone in the unit may use during their free time to call a family member.
Type of program (i.e. day program, inpatient): Inpatient
Any other identities/marginalizations i.e. race/gender/sexuality that could have influenced your stay?: I’m a white lesbian, and I didn’t notice any effects because of that. The unit is predominantly white and female.
