Name of Hospital: McLean Hospital, Short Term Unit (Adult Depressive Disorder Inpatient)
City, State/Province, Country: Belmont, MA, USA
Number of Stars: 2
Comment: Some groups and check ins, access to cell phones/internet, ability to order take out. There is no accountability for abuse happening on the unit. Patients repeatedly raped by staff told they were just lying and failed to even keep staff away from patients. Illegal/abusive use of seclusion and restraint, including in retaliation and refusing to administer basic medical care to patients in seclusion /restraints, violating state law for keeping patients in restraint/seclusion for days- covering it up so other patients can’t observe it by blocking parts of the unit. Human rights officer trained to lie about laws and refuses to help.
