Comment: I was admitted for a suicide attempt. Though I don’t like this hospital (I have developed weird “quirks” and triggers thanks to the experience ie: Mixed vegetables cause me anxiety and I can no longer sleep till everyone else is asleep in the house) it was not the worst. The staff was… Okay, most were very cold and ignored you for the most part while maybe 2 would chat and be kind with you. We were not allowed outside except twice in my week stay, and only stayed out for about 10 minutes each time. The Adult Ward is obscenely tiny and caused me a lot of claustrophobia. My social worker was very nice, and my psychiatrist was rude. She point blank called me annoying. The activities are honestly pointless, and their “After” plans aren’t very helpful as well. A lot of their “calming down” methods are just breathing and visualization, and as someone who is Bipolar and has delusions it’s very hard to just “breathe and imagine” something else. They also deadnamed and forced a transgirl into the boys dorms, and she was experiencing dysphoria.
