Comment: I was in the RUH Hospital Psych ward which at the time was called The Hantleman Center at the time in 1999 for 10 days. The ward was small with a lot of patients coming and going. The staff were useless and aggressively mean with a single exception. Once the Drs were gone for the day the staff sat in their staff room and came out very little.

The programs were useless as well. It consisted of what they called a Focus Group where we sat on the floor and listened to a casette tape of a guy talking about relaxation. It was complete with a warning to not listen to the tape while driving or operating heavy machinery. There was a group session where we talked about what we were dealing with.

A few people tried bringing up the way we were treated by the staff. This led to even worse treatment so the group sessions were very quiet afterwards. If the Dr. came by which happened every few days you had 5 minutes of their time. I hope in the time since I was there things have changed.

Type of program (i.e. day program, inpatient): Inpatient
