Comment: As a religiously affiliated hospital, it did not respect my obligation to eat kosher food. Because of this, I did not eat for a week. The hospital refused to make any accommodations and was content to let me starve. The only positive thing that occurred was that they allowed my parents special visiting times since they were flying in from out of state.
The staff was actively mean and restrictive, when I finally began to open up in the mandatory group therapy sessions about the abuse I suffered from my mother, the psychologist leading the session said that it was normal and nothing to be upset about. One nurse threatened me with scissors and when I talked back, marked me down as uncooperative.
The environment was incredibly restrictive, I felt like a prisoner who had committed a crime. I left the hospital worse than I came in.
