Comment: Good Shepherd offers both an adult ward and an adolescent ward for inpatient care. When I stayed there, I was 17, so I was placed in the adolescent ward, which is for youth ages 12-18. The staff were very kind and patient, and they always made time for one-on-one interactions with the patients. The selection of food was fantastic and we were given plenty of time to eat.
Every day, we had 30-45 minutes of time in the gym area to get exercise, in addition to 2-3 other activities ranging from art to group discussions to physical activity, and free time to spend in the ward lobby between. We had a selection of movies we could choose to watch together, and we were allowed to have books, sketchbooks, and journals with us. We stayed two to a room, with boys on the left side of the hall and girls on the right side. The beds were comfortable, if a little firm, and the showers were well-maintained.
My only complaint was that the facility had a maximum stay period of 7 days, and so some of the treatment and psychologist interviews felt slightly rushed.
